Tina Dove
National Opportunity to Learn Campaign Director

Tina Dove

Tina Dove, a longtime education advocate and former teacher, is the director of the National Opportunity to Learn (OTL) Campaign, where she will help develop and implement outreach and policy strategies.

Launched in 2008, the OTL Campaign is building a national movement to bring together key educational resources necessary to provide all students a fair and substantive opportunity to learn. Among its highest priorities, OTL seeks systemic reform to ensure  all children access to high quality early childhood education, highly effective teachers , college preparatory curricula, and equitable instructional resources.

Dove will work from Washington, D.C., where she most recently was manager of public policy for ASCD (formerly the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development). As the OTL Campaign director, Dove will support grassroots mobilization efforts, help expand collaboration in target states, and plan and execute strategies to build public will for state and federal policy change.

Prior to joining the Opportunity to Learn Campaign, Dove was manager of public policy advocacy for ASCD, advancing its policy agenda on Capitol Hill, and with the White House and federal agencies. She previously served as the advocacy liaison and intergovernmental coordinator for the National PTA, working with PTA members nationwide to strengthen grassroots efforts to help schools.

Dove began her policy career on Capitol Hill working for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein. Dove is also an experienced teacher, having taught high school social studies in the District of Columbia Public Schools, Fairfax County (Va.) Public Schools, and the Redlands (Calif.) Unified School District.

Dove holds a B.A. in political science and sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a M.Ed. in secondary education from the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development.
