On January 22, 2010, Mr. Miller became the Sr. Vice President of Operations of The Schott Foundation for Public Education. In this role, Mr. Miller is the senior manager of the Foundation's finance and investments, operations, human resources, and compliance functions. Alfred Miller recently served as the Executive Director of Recruitment and Admissions for New Leaders for New Schools. Prior to joining New Leaders, Alfred spent the bulk of his professional career serving in various leadership roles in local government and education, focusing on operations and strategy. Read more >

Cassie Schwerner joined The Schott Foundation for Public Education in 1997. As the Senior Vice President of Programs, Dr. Schwerner manages all Schott grant making and develops appropriate statewide strategies. Dr. Schwerner has been tapped by organizations such as Grantmakers for Education, the Jewish Funders Network, Public Education Network and Council on Foundations. Tina Dove, a longtime education advocate and former teacher, is the director of the National Opportunity to Learn (OTL) Campaign, where she will help develop and implement outreach and policy strategies. Launched in 2008, the OTL Campaign is building a national movement to bring together key educational resources necessary to provide all students a fair and substantive opportunity to learn. Ann Beaudry began working with the Schott Foundation for Public Education as a consultant in 2008 and joined the staff as Vice President for Strategy and Program Development in 2009. Nakisha M. Lewis joined The Schott Foundation for Public Education in September 2008. As the Project Manager, Ms. Lewis is responsible for providing general grantmaking support to program staff, screening proposals, and assisting with support of grantees and grant seekers. Ms. Lewis previously served as the Coordinator of Adolescent Programs at the Family Planning Council in Philadelphia. She also served as a member of the School District of Philadelphia's Sexuality and Health Materials Review Committee.

Michael Holzman is an independent consultant and writer. He joined The Schott Foundation for Public Education as a research consultant in 2002. Dr. Holzman is the author of the Foundation's series Public Education and Black Male Students: A State Report Card. He is currently working on a report on opportunities for learning in American public schools for the Schott Foundation and a report on childhood homelessness for the National Center on Family Homelessness. He is an evaluator of the City University of New York's Black Male Initiative Teachers as Leaders project. Read more >

Shawna J. Ellis joined the Schott Foundation for Public Education in March 2009. Ms. Ellis currently serves as the Executive Assistant to the President and is responsible for providing general office support to the Executive Operations team. Ms. Ellis previously served as the Executive Assistant to the President/CEO of a real estate firm based in Miami, FL. In this role, Nicole manages this initiative aimed at improving educational outcomes for Black male students initially within the New York City area and eventually across the nation. Susan Gobreski is the Executive Director of Education Voters Institute in Pennsylvania, formed in 2007 to advance public education policy through civic engagement and participation, as well as increase accountability to education issues. She has worked in issue advocacy and issue based electoral engagement for 20 years, running strategic policy and election campaigns, doing grassroots organizing and providing leadership development and training for individuals and organizations. Yesenia Rosado joined the Pennsylvania team as the Education Voters Programs and Policy Coordinator in March, 2011.
